Dr Emma Carroll from the Marine Mammal Ecology Group at the University of Auckland has been awarded the Royal Society and British Academy¹s Newton International Fellowship. She will join Professor Oscar Gaggiotti's group at SOI to work on a project focused on cultural drivers of demographic connectivity in southern right whales.

Fellows will receive support in the region of £100,000 each for a two year placement in the UK.
