Fellowship Award

Dr Emma Carroll from the Marine Mammal Ecology Group at the University of Auckland has been awarded the Royal Society and British Academy¹s Newton International Fellowship. She will join Professor Oscar Gaggiotti's group at SOI to work on a project focused on cultural drivers of demographic connectivity in southern right whales.

The Newton International Fellowships provide an opportunity for some of the most talented early career post-doctoral researchers working overseas to carry out world class research in UK institutions across all disciplines of humanities, engineering, and natural and social sciences.

Fellows will receive support in the region of £100,000 each for a two year placement in the UK.
