Biology Professor to be VP Teaching and Learning

Congratulations to Professor Pat Willmer of the School of Biology who has agreed to take up the post of Vice-Principal for Teaching and Learning at the University of St Andrews from this summer.  Professor Willmer has previously served in the role of Dean of Science.  During the summer she will be working with the departing VP, Professor Winn to ensure a smooth transition to her new role.

Responsibilities of the Vice-Principal for Learning and Teaching include:

  • Oversight and development of the University's overall strategy for excellence in learning and teaching across the Schools
  • Enhancement of quality of Learning and Teaching
  • Oversight and development of the SALTIRE (St Andrews Leaning and Teaching, Innovation, Review and Enhancement) research resource for staff and students
  • Support of the Academic Audit Committee
  • Oversight of the Teaching Learning and Assessment Committee
